Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Email address when you enter it to unlock a bonus download or a free HD sample
• Logo or name and title you add when you buy a logo background. It stays in your browser while you edit and is uploaded only at checkout, then stored privately to produce your file
• Reviews: your rating and comment, plus the name and email address if you choose to give them
• Branded Backgrounds and licensing inquiries: your name, work email, company, team size, and the project brief you send
• Purchases: the name, email address, and billing country or address you enter at Stripe checkout, plus the licensee name for a commercial license. Stripe shares these with us so we can deliver your order and keep a record of the sale.
• Messages and feedback you send to us, and any other information you choose to provide

They process this information only to provide their services to us.
• Payment Processing (Stripe): When you purchase HD images, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe receives your payment details and billing information directly. MeetBackdrops does not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
• Affiliate Links (Amazon Associates): Some blog articles contain Amazon affiliate links. If you click one, Amazon may set cookies on its own domain and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases, at no additional cost to you. We do not share any of your data with Amazon. • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred

App Integrations (Zoom App & Google Meet Add-on)

MeetBackdrops offers optional integrations for video-calling platforms. These apply only if you choose to install or open them.

MeetBackdrops Zoom App

If you connect our Zoom App, we use Zoom's OAuth sign-in so you can apply backgrounds inside your Zoom client. Your Zoom access and refresh tokens are stored only in an encrypted, http-only cookie on your own device to keep you signed in — they are not stored on our servers. We do not access your Zoom meetings, recordings, chat, contacts, or any meeting content. You can disconnect at any time by clearing the cookie or removing the app from your Zoom account.

MeetBackdrops Google Meet Add-on

Our Google Meet add-on runs in the Meet side panel and requests no Google account permissions. It does not access your Google account, profile, contacts, calendar, or any meeting content. It loads our background catalog and records anonymous usage events (the image name and category when you download one) used only for popularity ranking. Applying a downloaded image as your background happens entirely within Google Meet's own visual-effects settings — the add-on cannot change your camera background for you.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our website:

• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to measure how visitors use the site. It sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and sends usage data to Google. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and ad-related data sharing are turned off. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on; see how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
• Visitor and session IDs (sb_visitor_id, sb_session, sb_first_visit): Random identifiers stored in your browser's local storage so our own analytics can tell new visits from return visits. They contain no personal details.
• Visit source (entry_referrer, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign): Stored in session storage, which clears when you close the tab, so a download can be credited to the site or campaign that brought you here.
• Download limits (sb_download_count, sb_ratelimit_hits, sb_email_bonus_used, sb_hd_sample_used, sb_hd_sample_email): Track your free downloads, whether you have used the email bonus download or free HD sample, and how often you have reached the limit.
• Wishlist (sb_wishlist): Stores the IDs of HD images you have saved to your wishlist. This data never leaves your device — it is not transmitted to our servers.
• Page design tests (mb_ab_hd_compare_hero): Remembers which version of a page section you were shown, so it stays the same on every visit while we compare designs.

You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser's settings. Doing so will remove your wishlist and download count.

IP Addresses

We use your IP address in three limited ways:

• Download limits: When you download a free image, we store a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself, to enforce the daily free-download limit and to count each download once.
• Bot filtering: We keep a short-lived counter keyed to your IP address that expires after one hour, to keep automated traffic out of our statistics.
• Inquiry forms: When you submit a Branded Backgrounds inquiry, we record your IP address and browser type with it, to help us screen out spam.

Data Retention

We keep purchase records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax, and license verification. We keep email addresses, reviews, and inquiries until you ask us to delete them. We keep usage records, which use the random IDs and hashed IP addresses described above rather than your name or email address, to measure trends over time.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information:

• SSL encryption for data transmission
• Secure hosting infrastructure
• Regular security audits and updates
• Limited access to personal information

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
